NEW!
We
are pleased to announce our new dog training session
of "Walkabout
Dog Obedience Class: Urban Obedience on the Move." This
unique approach to dog obedience training recognizes
that most behavior problems don't come up in a sterile
class setting inside a building or in a ring. You need
your dog to behave when you are out in public with
distractions and temptations. Our new "Walkabout" dog
training class will be held in various locations throughout
Lodi,
from downtown cafés to parks to bus and train
stations.
Teach your dog or puppy Come, Sit, Down, Stay, Wait,
and easy No-pull Leash Walking in public while enjoying
the company of other dog training friends.
Class is six
weeks in length with a talk and demonstration for the first class, which will
be held at Victor Park in Acampo (Victor Rd at Bruella Rd.) Do not bring
your dog to the first class. Do bring proof of parvo and distemper vaccinations.
This dog training class is best for puppies and dogs over four months old.
Class size is limited to ten dogs. We will also offer equipment and advice
on where to get what you need to have a really productive enjoyable session. Click

Final Exam" will consist of an AKC Canine Good Citizen Test (see below).
Classes are $125 and include the official test forms.

Christmas (or several weeks before).

Our
training prepares students for the AKC Canine
Good Citizen test.
In
addition to being a good way to show off your well
behaved dog, this certificate is often viewed favorably
by insurance companies when it comes to covering
our dogs. There is no minimum age requirement for
the test, and any breed or mixed breed may participate.
As
a certified CGC Evaluator, Julia can
test and certify your dog on completion of training.

About
the Trainer
A former police K-9 handler, Julia Priest
is a nationally recognized trainer who
has taught classes and seminars throughout
the US. She has earned the Front and Finish ® Platinum award
for excellence in obedience, as well as the United Schutzhund Clubs
of America Master Sports Medal in Gold and numerous awards for obedience
and tracking. She has personally earned more than 50 titles on more
than
a dozen dogs.
Her experience
is not limited to the competition arena. From pomeranians and poodles
to rottweilers
and retrievers, Julia has experience with
many different breeds, adapting the training
to suit the dog's individual character. All
breeds welcome. Many references available.

in the Lodi, Galt and Elk Grove area
Make an appointment at your convenience. Julia will
come to your home and work with the whole family to
integrate your pet and make him the true companion
you want. Behavior modification, house manners, basic
obedience, and more in the comfort of your home, with
follow-up and email or phone support. Call for hourly
rates.
Board and Train at the Kennel
Leave your dog with us while you vacation and come
home to a better behaved pet. Average stay is 2-3
weeks. Clients stay at our small country kennel and
home.
Fenced, shaded with indoor and outdoor quarters and
ample opportunity for socialization and exercise,
reservations are limited so that each dog gets abundant
personal
attention. All training is done personally by Julia
Priest.
Private Obedience Lessons
By appointment. Coaching for competition schutzhund
or AKC obedience, or just superior pet performance.
